I think Lanzini is going to make a good alternative to Payet.
Lanzini will (is?) get us back in the goals and then Payet coming back.
It will be great to see them together.

Bilic is saying Payet will be in the squad subject to coming through training.
Said Jelavic was back training as were Moses & Reid. Asked about Moses & Reid for Liverpool & said unlikely but prob v Wolves.
No mention of Cresswell so I am presuming he is still out.
Valencia & Collins OK after knocks they said a couple of days ago.

I would like to see Obiang start. Kouyaté should be dropped to the bench, he's been terrible. Still think we look better with a 3 man midfield, and I don't think being part of one suits Lanzini, who should be further forward. So that means Noble plus Song. I just think a proper DM will help them be more creative.
Jenks has lost confidence (this was already the case prior to starting at LB, which should never have happened), so Tomkins at RB for me. Hopefully, Cresswell is fit ?
The rest depends on fitness – 3 from Lanzini, Valencia, Antonio and Carroll to start up front. I think the first 3 would ask the most questions of a dodgy Liverpool defence, with AC on the bench.

back to 4-4-2 for me.
When you have a hard working forward like Valencia who drop back into midfield out of possesion its the best system.
Lanzini starts left, Noble and Kouyate central and then Antonio right. Carroll and Valencia upfront.
The only problem with 4-4-2 in our squad at the moment is Jenkinson, needs a good overlapping fullback and his confidence is hot.

From what I've seen of Liverpool recently I fear they'll give us the run around in midfield.
I think the team will be:

Carroll
Subs:
Randolph, Jenkinson, Reid, Moses, Payet, Zarate, Obiang
That leaves no Song or Jelavic even in the squad. A far cry from our bench of two games ago.
Noble/Kouyate midfield is the concern. Both are slow and have been behind the game in recent weeks. Would be quite tempted to drop Lanzini deeper to try and control the midfield game possession wise alongside the disciplined Obiang, and hope Payet or Moses were fit enough to start.
